You’ve dreamt of your wedding day and what your soon-to-be spouse’s reaction would be when they see you for the first time. Maybe you’ve always thought you would see each other for the first time down the aisle, but now you’re considering a first look. There are many benefits of a first look on your wedding day, and we’re going to dive into some of them!
More Time Together
On your wedding day, you’re marrying the love of your life. The thing is, you’ll undoubtedly want to spend time together on your special day. However, if you don’t do a first look, you may not get to spend a lot of time together. If you choose to do a first look, you’ll get that extra time together.
Emotions Flow
Some brides think that if you do a first look, you won’t get as good of a reaction from your partner; however, from my experience, I’ve witnessed the opposite! While it may seem like all eyes are on you the moment you walk down the aisle, there are actually many people looking at your soon-to-be husband as well. Everyone expects him to have this great reaction to seeing how beautiful you look. While standing there in front of so many people, emotions might be held back because of all the eyes on you. But when you do a first look, it’s just the two of you.
As you give a tap on his shoulder to turn around and see you, he is looking at you, and only you. There is no one else around (other than your photographers, of course)! Doing your first look with just the two of you makes a more intimate interaction. Tears stream down your cheeks, you each have big smiles on your faces, and you give each other a big hug. When my couples choose to do a first look, I let them have as much time as they want. If you decide to take ten minutes and cry together, read personal vows, or laugh together, then do it! I’m here to capture it all.
You’ll Receive More Photos
Who doesn’t want to receive more wedding photos, right? When you have a first look, I’ll be able to photograph unforgettable moments. You’ll receive pictures from this part of the day, but you’ll also have portraits right after! If images of the two of you are significant, we can always take some just married and sunset portraits as well!
Saves Time
Your wedding day timeline can be a little crunched if you don’t do a first look. If there’s only an hour after your ceremony to complete family portraits, bridal party photos, and portraits of the two of you, then you’ll have to move fast, and more than likely, you won’t be able to receive tons of photos. One of the most significant benefits of a first look is being able to do all photos before the ceremony! This lets you relax and enjoy cocktail hour with all of your guests.
