Alexis and Jeffrey had a fun summer Metropolist wedding in Seattle in August! Although the day was mostly overcast, it was still a storybook wedding!
Jeffrey and Alexis both attended the University of Washington Seattle. In 2012, they met at a college party through mutual friends but stayed acquaintances. However, they reconnected at a music festival about a year later and started dating. Both of them are captivated by numbers. So much so, they officially started dating on 7/7/14, they got engaged on 9/9/18, and they were initially planning on getting married on 10/10/20. Due to covid and desiring a summer wedding, they had to change their date.
The Metropolist is located in the historic Ederer Building. Specifically, this Seattle wedding venue has floor-to-ceiling windows, letting in all the natural light. Since The Metropolist provides farm tables and natural wooden chairs, Alexis and Jeffrey went with neutral colors and a hint of rose. They wished to have a romantic yet rustic look at their wedding, and they achieved exactly that!
They’ve dreamt of their wedding day for years. The two of them envisioned blending their Asian American cultures into the wedding. They incorporated their cultures through traditional wear, dances, and food/dessert. Desserts from a Vietnamese deli and homemade Lao desserts were served. Their family and friends love having a great time and brought a ton of high energy to their wedding.
Alexis wore three gowns, with the first one being for the ceremony. It was a modern mermaid gown with graphic lace, a low back, and a long train. The second outfit was a traditional Laos dress made with custom-dyed Lao silk and hand-embroidered with customized patterns. The third and final dress was for the reception. It was a fitted silky white gown that was stretchy and comfortable for dancing. She looked absolutely beautiful in all three of her gowns.
Their first dance was to Back at One by Brian McKnight to continue their love for number patterns. There was an amazing vibe throughout the whole wedding day. All of their wedding party and guests were ready to celebrate the lovely bride and groom!
