Like many couples this year, Tamara and Cameron were planning to tie the knot and have a huge celebration with their family and friends. With so much uncertainty revolving around covid, they decided to continue to get married on their chosen date as it was so special to them! With their closest and dearest friends and family, their This Willapa Hills Farm Wedding was so beautiful to witness!

Read more about their story below!

What started as an unexpected meeting through a prank, eventually turned friendship into more.

“We met while we were at undergrad at Saint Martin’s University through a mutual friend. While messing around one day, I ran into Cameron’s room to pull a prank on his roommate and we became acquaintances, and eventually friends.”

They made their relationship official when they lived next to each other and were both leaders on a mentorship floor their Senior year.

How he popped the question…

In 2018 Tamara completed her first Master’s degree and with an accomplishment as such, Cameron decided it was the perfect time to celebrate with a trip: a week and a half spent in beautiful Hawaii with nothing planned but relaxing, exploring, eating, and enjoying one another’s company along with their friends who lived on the island (oh…and a proposal up the sleeve!)

One evening they took a walk on Ala Moana beach, hoping to capture a few sunset photos together.

“Cameron had his camera out and kept insisting the light wasn’t right and that he couldn’t get the right shot. He kept saying things like, ‘my camera isn’t like your phone, it can’t focus like that. It needs time to be perfect’.”

As Tamara walked ahead to grab a photo she heard a click of the camera and when she turned around, she saw a whole new chapter beginning with Cameron, down on one knee, holding the ring that was passed down from Tamara’s late grandmother and then her late mother. She remembers Cameron saying “we’ve always talked about getting married and there is no one else I’d rather be with, so we might as well make it official!”

Wedding day details…

COVID threw a wrench in the 2020 wedding scene but despite some couples cancelling or postponing, Tamara and Cameron knew they wanted to go ahead with their Willapa Hills Farm Wedding and move their big reception to next year when the pandemic dust has settled.

Tamara and Cameron wanted a day that would celebrate their love for one another, the happiness of their guests was also on their mind and it wasn’t until about the last 8 months that they switched their mindset from “we just want everyone to be happy” to “we want to be happy.”

As far as their vision board of colors and styles, Tamara initially wanted something light and airy but when she said yes to her dress (which featured pink tulle), she molded her palette around that!

“We knew we wanted greenery as a neutral and then black because everyone can rewear it. We wanted to have a splash of elegance and really tried to make that happen while also having a relaxed look.”

These colors also fit perfectly for their Willapa Hills Farm Wedding.

Some of their favorite moments..

“I loved hearing Cameron’s vows. I know for me personally, I worked so hard on mine, seeing his reaction and hearing his was so pure and so full of love. I just love him so much and being able to let everyone know that was truly an amazing experience.”

Tamara was also able to have her mom present on a small charm that she tied to her bouquet so she was there to walk her daughter down the aisle.

“It was an incredibly small ceremony with some of the most amazing people I know. I am getting emotional thinking about it now…Each vendor, each guest, each party member made us feel so loved, supported, and important. I cannot imagine a better day. It truly was a day full of love and we are so incredibly grateful”
