Anna and Breit had originally planned to get married later on in the year with a big celebration surrounded by their family and friends. However like many other brides and grooms this year, with the recent pandemic and the uncertainty of if they would even be able to have a big celebration, they thought why wait when they can get married now? They reached out to me asking to be their Washington Coast Elopement Photographer, and OF COURSE I said “heck yea!” A week later they got married in court and trekked their way to the Washington coast near La Push, WA for an epic elopement.

Ruby Beach is an amazing destination for Washington Elopements

When I met up with Anna and Breit at the parking lot, it’s crazy to think that this was the first time that we ever met in person. We just automatically clicked like we’ve been friends forever. I absolutely LOVE IT when I feel that genuine connection with my couples! Anna was in this gorgeous gown that she surprisingly found off of Facebook Marketplace. The whole time there she kept getting questions of where she bought her gown! Breit was suited up in a jacket and pants ensemble, looking dapper as ever.

When we trekked our way towards Ruby Beach, you could just feel the excitement that they were finally Mr. and Mrs.! We got to the beach and you could see the fog making its way around the cascading rock formations and hear the sound of the waves crashing. Even though there was no sun in sight, Ruby Beach is just as beautiful as ever with its moody, coastal vibes.

I could feel so much love, happiness, and excitement the entire time. Anna is from Okinawa, Japan and that’s how her and Breit met while he was stationed there for the military. Being together for more than 5 years and having to go through many deployments, they both knew it was the right time to tie the knot. I absolutely LOVED how Anna and Breit went with the flow. Anna wore hiking boots and eventually went barefoot. They braved the misty weather that got them completely soaked. They even GOT IN THE WATER, like whaaat?! To many, the weather conditions wouldn’t be an ideal one to get married but it was absolutely perfect for Anna and Breit. And I was absolutely honored to be their Ruby Beach Elopement Photographer.
