Being a Seattle Wedding Photographer who also travels around Washington, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph some beautiful weddings in the area. Recently I captured Jackie and Rolando’s intimate wedding and of course it was nothing short of being beautiful!
I was so excited to be their Rock Creek Gardens Wedding Photographer!
With the current conditions of 2020 causing many couples to reschedule or postpone their wedding celebrations, Jackie and Rolando decided to push back their formal celebration to 2021 but their original date was so special to them that they wanted to still celebrate becoming Mr. and Mrs. on that day. They decided to invite their closest family and friends to attend their intimate ceremony to celebrate their love with them.
Awarded one of the top garden wedding venues in Washington, Rock Creek Gardens is the perfect outdoor wedding venue, especially if you are considering having an intimate ceremony or elopement. Sat on 20 acres, the private estate is surrounded by cedar trees, waterfalls, and peaks of Mt. Rainier, offering a romantic and elegant setting .
I love knowing the history behind the venues my couples have chosen, and Rock Creek was no exception. The Wedding Party House on the property was originally built in 1958 (upgraded during a recent renovation) and home to the Morell family for over 20 years. In 2005 after their four kids had flown the nest, the decision to sell the property came into the picture. The eldest daughter decided to instead turn the property into a place where couples could create a lasting memory together, just as her family had done growing up. They hosted their first wedding in 2008 and have been creating one-of-a-kind experiences ever since!
Their ceremony space can accommodate up to 300 guests (pre Covid of course!) and has pathways throughout the property making it easily accessible for guests that may have trouble traveling on uneven terrain. They do have onsite parking as well making it easy for guests who are just traveling a short distance.
Rock Creek Gardens is only 30 minutes or less away from Tacoma and 40 minutes away from Seattle. For guests traveling from out-of-town, there are hotel accommodations nearby that also offer transportation services.
Looking into venues that offer packages for your wedding day will give you peace of mind while planning your wedding and can save you some money in the process! If you have postponed your 2020 wedding and are on the hunt for a venue, or are currently planning your wedding for 2021 and beyond, Rock Creek offers great wedding packages including a set number of hours on-site with exclusive use of the venue, use of their Garden ceremony location, ceremony chairs, and a sparkler exit (one of my favorite exits to photograph!)
From a huge wedding celebration to an intimate wedding ceremony, I highly recommend having a Rock Creek Garden Wedding!
