Christin and Leandrew were planning for a big wedding ceremony and reception with all of their family and friends. When covid hit, their big wedding plans came to a halt. They sat down and discussed what was important to them as they tie the knot. They love the outdoors so much that it was an easy decision to read their vows in the mountains for a Mt. Rainier Elopement.
How they met:
Christin and Leandrew first met while attending the same middle school and became really good friends. Since middle school, they remained good friends throughout their lifetime. When they reached their early 20s they started giving each other relationship advice which then led to more one on one hangouts and eventually a relationship.
Their Proposal Story:
In 2019, they took a family trip to Hawaii. At the time they were expecting their first child later that year and thought it was perfect photo op to do a gender reveal photo shoot on the beach. As they were positioning themselves into another pose, Christin turned around and saw Leandrew on his knee. She was so confused as she thought to herself, “that’s not the pose we talked about.” She soon realized what was happening when Leandrew pulled out the ring. And obviously she said yes!
What were their favorite parts of the day?
The whole day was gloomy, cloudy, with a high chance of rain which had them stressing about up until the day of. As their session with me was coming to an end, the sun made an appearance as it was slowly descending behind the mountains. As it was peaking through it lifted their spirits and was the perfect ending to their day.
Why elope in the mountains?
As friends and while dating they would always go on hikes together, and recently started doing backpacking trips. There is nothing more relaxing and beautiful than spending time atop a mountain peak. When covid hit, they had to change their plans, and carefully thought about what type of wedding spoke to them as a couple. They instantly knew they were going to elope on top of a mountain.
Have any advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?
Their biggest advice for couples planning on getting married in the mountains is to be flexible. The weather can be so unpredictable but just trust that everything is going to turn out beyond better than you could imagine.
I absolutely loved getting to know more about Christin and Leandrew and their story. Being their Washington Elopement Photographer and photographing their Mount Rainier Elopement was DREAM! I’m also so excited that their romantic elopement has been featured on Mountainside Bride!
